Dr Organic Snail Gel Review

Dr Organic Snail Gel Review

I know I probably review too many Dr Organic products but in my opinion they offer the best value for money on the market, so here comes my Dr Organic Snail Gel review. This is a relatively new product and to be honest I am not into weird things. So at first I thought I would not go for this one…Snail Gel? Why on Earth would I need it! But of course my curiosity eventually took over and I finally got this gel. You can buy it from any Holland & Barrett shop for £19.99 or online, it’s the most expensive product from Dr Organic range but definitely worth it.

Let’s clear one thing first – according to Dr Organic no snails are hurt during the gel production! So now we can talk about the gel itself without bringing up the animal cruelty issue…One of the main ingredients of this gel (as the name would suggest) is snail secretion filtrate, that to you and me is snail slime! I know, that sounds very appealing. There is the whole debate going on in the beauty world whether or not snail filtrate actually has powerful anti-aging and regenerating properties. It is supposed to be packed with anti-oxidants that could support skin’s youthfulness and elasticity. I am not so sure if snail slime is very effective anti-ageing treatment (I am not in the right age group yet to judge) but I know that my skin loves Dr Organic Snail Gel. And this is good enough argument for me. It makes my skin look very radiant, even-toned and soft, healing my blemishes without any irritation and greasy feeling. I also like that I can apply this gel before bed time and it does not make my hair routes greasy.

Dr Organic Snail Gel works well as a moisturiser and skin treatment/serum.This product has very light consistency and it’s perfect for summer. I think it will work for most skin types. I use it as a moisturiser for face and neck around 3-4 times per week (that’s a lot for me for one product) and it goes well with my oily skin. It’s so unbelievably refreshing and it just sinks into my skin as it has been designed perfectly for it. For anyone with normal to dry skin it can be applied before moisturiser instead of serum. I think it will work for sensitive skin as it has some cooling and very soothing effect on skin. I should also mention that I particularly like to apply this gel to my neck. I am trying to look after my neck and prevent any potential wrinkles, but I don’t like how most moisturisers feel on my neck skin. But Dr Organic Snail Gel absorbs so quickly by skin that I don’t feel it at all. And my neck now looks very smooth.

Now to the texture, scent and ingredients. Snail gel comes in a very sleek glass jar.  This product is completely transparent, very light and thus very refreshing on skin.

It has very strong citrussy scent as lime oil is one of the top ingredients but it’s very pleasant and not overpowering. It’s actually very uplifting feel-good kind of scent. Though I am not huge fan of citrussy products I definitely prefer my skin care to smell with limes rather than snails. I’ve never sniffed snails but I guess they don’t smell like roses. Another interesting ingredient is Litsea Cubeba oil. After googling it, I found that this plant originated from China and  is also famous for its citrus aroma and has some powerful anti-inflammatory properties. Snail Gel also contains lemongrass oil and aloe vera leaf juice that are good for skin soothing.
Overall, I am very impressed with Dr Organic Snail Gel. I already went through more than half of the jar and I am going to repurchase this product.

P.S. I don’t get paid or asked by businesses to promote any products or write a review. All reviews you find on this site are my own and fair (as much as possible) opinion.

I think it does, because I have post acne scars. I use rosehip oil and this gel and they seem to be less visible now!

It’s really good to know that this product has helped you so much! I finished my first jar and had to get a second one as I liked it so much. I think the formulation has changed a bit, but it’s still very good. I would like to try other new products from Dr Organic Snail range as well, they look very promising!
