How to get on with fresh vegetable juice

Fresh Vegetable Juice

I have been into juicing and smoothing for more than 3 years now and I feel like I can write a book on this topic very soon. In my world, a day without fresh vegetable juice is not going to be a perfect day. Most of the vitamins and minerals in fruits and veggies come from their juice. Some might argue that you miss out on fibre if you go for juicing, but I still think that it’s much easier to get all benefits of fruits and vegetables in the form of fresh juice. And if you go a smoothie you get a full package with fiber too!

I know for a fact that though many people are aware of all amazing benefits of fresh vegetable juices they still find it hard to get into it. Well, I understand that green juice can look a bit intimidating but the thing is if you want to start pumping yourself with vitamin juices just take it easy. I know some people prepare themselves really hard-core green juices and then feel sick from the first seep. Don’t do it (unless you have strong nerves), be a beginner instead and get to know different fresh juices and smoothies options gradually. I would like to share 6 fresh juice recipes that I hope will help to get anyone on a juicing ladder. 2 of them are for beginners, 2 for intermediate and 2 for juicing pros. All recipes will give aprox 250ml of juice.

Beginners-level recipes:

Option 1
Juice 2 apples (royal gala or red delicious are the best), one pear and a handful of grapes.

Option 2
I will give a smoothie recipe for this one as I think smoothies are also great start to get into healthy liquids.
Blend 150ml of almond milk, 1/2 ripe banana and a cup of fresh or frozen berries (I personally prefer strawberries and blueberries). Add one tsp of honey or agave syrup if you are into sweeter taste.

Intermediate-level juice recipes:

Option 1
Juice 2 apples, 2 medium carrots and 1 celery stick.

Option 2
Juice 2 apples, 1 small beetroot and 2-3 inches long cucumber slice

“Hard core” fresh vegetable juice recipes:

Option 1 – Green Smoothie
Juice 1 apple, 1 celery stick, 4-inches long cucumber slice and a cup of fresh spinach. Blend it with a small ripe avocado and 1 tsp of chia seeds. This option is especially good for people with skin problems, as avocado is a rich source of healthy fatty acids that support healthy skin.

Option 2 – Detox Vegetable Juice
Juice 1/2 apple, 1 celery stick, 3-inches long cucumber slice, 1 medium carrot, 1 small beetroot and a slice of lemon.

Of course there are so many more recipes of fresh vegetable juice. Once you get into juicing, you will come with your own amazing recipes that are full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. The only thing with making your own juice or smoothie is that washing a juicing machine or blender is a complete pain in a certain part of the body! But it is all worth it at the end and your body will thank you later for all the effort.
