Indie Lee Squalane Oil & Rosehip Cleanser

Indie Lee Rosehip Cleanser and Squalane Oil

Indie Lee Skincare Review. I’ve been planning to post a review on Indie Lee products for quite a while, and finally I have some spare time to do so. I am sure that if you consider yourself to be a part of the green beauty community, you might have heard about this brand. If not, Indie Lee is a collection of eco-chic skin care products, created in New York by Indie Lee who is the driving force behind the brand. You can read her inspiring story here. Indie Lee products are packed with active botanical ingredients to help with such skin issues as blemishes, fine lines and dehydration. I’ve tried quite a few of their products and in this post I would like to pay special attention to two of them – Indie Lee Rosehip Cleanser & Indie Lee Squalane Oil.

Indie Lee Rosehip Cleanser (£24.95) is a very gentle gel cleanser with pleasant and light Rose scent. It produces a bit of lather on contact with water, but not a lot like other gel cleansers. It’s not drying and cleanses skin really well. I appreciate this cleanser a lot as I do prefer gel cleansers, but many of them leave my skin feeling very tight and I cannot really use them on everyday basis to avoid skin irritation. This cleanser is perfect for everyday use, even twice a day and it leaves my skin calm and clean.

This cleanser might look a bit overshadowed by Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser. I’ve tried both of them and while Brightening Cleanser is very nice and smells so delicious, I find that Rosehip Cleanser suits my oily, blemish prone and sensitive skin much better. I would say that Brightening Cleanser would better suit people with normal, non reactive skin type to achieve fresh and radiant complexion. It definitely has some exfoliating and skin perfecting properties. While Rosehip Cleanser would work for people with sensitive and fragile skin as it’s so gentle. A good point about both Indie Lee cleansers is that they come in a pump bottle with very handy pump. Two pumps give you around a pea size of the product and that’s more than enough for one wash. So these cleansers are very economical to use. And of course the glass bottles have a really appealing look – modern and sleek.

Indie Lee Squalane Oil

Another product that deserves special attention is Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil (£23.45). It’s one of the brand’s best sellers and probably one of the most versatile facial products. This oil is a 100% pure squalane, derived from olives and I would call it a dry oil because of its light texture. This oil is completely clear and doesn’t have any scent at all. In this way, it’s perfect for anyone who doesn’t like fragranced skin care or has sensitivity to essential oils. Indie Lee Squalane Oil absorbs very fast into the skin, adds a healthy glow and does not clog pores. It works really well for my oily skin though it’s an oil. The reason for this is the fact that Squalane oil is very similar in its structure to the sebum produced by the skin glands. It plays a role of an emollient, covering the skin and in this way sending the signal to the glands that the skin has enough oil. Hence skin does not need to produce more oil and becomes balanced. Actually many oils have similar property, making them suitable for all skin types. But I find that its amazingly light texture and absence of any scent make Indie Lee Squalane Oil really stand out from other facial oils. Also, many other oils are not very suitable for sensitive skin, while this oil will not be a problem for most skin types to tolerate. This oil is a great as a makeup base too, especially if you are after glowing and dewy kind of look!

I am planning to write about Indie Lee Blemish Stick as well and really want to try their Blemish Lotion. What about you? Have you tried any Indie Lee products yet?
