Emergency Skin Rescue Routine

Skin Rescue Routine - CV Skinlabs & Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap

My skin has always been on the sensitive side, especially my cheeks. Usually if my skin is not happy about something, I get lots of small blemishes and by now I know pretty well how to deal with that. But a couple of weeks ago, I went through a completely new thing for me in a form of the most horrible burning red rash around my chin! To say the least I was pretty shocked as I didn’t do any funny experiments with my face at that time and I’ve sticked to quite safe skin care routine recently.I don’t know the exact reason for that rash, but I blame all the chocolate I’d eaten over the few weeks before Easter (the way too-too much that any sensible person should ever eat)!

Anyway, there I was…very much lost as I had no clue what to do about it and all my skin care products only seemed to cause more irritation. First thing, I’ve stopped using all my usual products, as though all of them have very clean ingredients, most of them are formulated with essential oils and they are not the best way to deal with severe skin irritation.

Luckily, I’ve been using CV Skinlabs Rescue & Relief Spray for quite a while now mainly post waxing and I knew that it’s the most powerful anti-inflammotary product in my stash. That was one of the first products that came to my aid. Quick note: if your skin is prone to any sorts of inflammation/irritation I would strongly suggest to consider using CV Skinlabs products, they are a bit pricey, but they are in the league of their own in terms of how effective they are to calm and sooth skin. All CV Skinlabs products are free from essential oils and packed with very powerful natural anti-inflammatory ingredients like turmeric, Aloe Vera and reishi mushroom.

I applied Rescue & Relief Spray for a couple of days as the only face care product. I also switched to Dr. Bronner’s Unscented Liquid Castile Soap as it is one of the most mild cleansers I have ever come across. Actually I wash my little dog with it, I hope she doesn’t mind too much that I am using her stuff…For the first cleanse, I simply used pure grapeseed oil as it is such a fantastic oil and it’s very easy to remove with facial tissues.

In addition to all of these I got CV Skinlabs Rescue On-The-Go Kit (finally available in the UK!!!). It contains small Calming Moisture and Restorative Balm tubes. I’ve been eyeing this set for a while, as I’ve tried the samples of these two products. I didn’t want to purchase the full size products as it’s not something I need on the regular basis…only in emergency and they go a really long way.

While CV Skinlabs Rescue & Relief Spray, Dr. Bronner’s Soap and grapeseed oil have kept my rash in control, on the next day after I got my CV Skinlabs kit and applied Calming Moisture, all redness was almost gone! I think it disappeared completely after 3 days, but I continued with the routine for another week just to be safe. And now my skin feels very happy again. I should also mention that I cut down my chocolate and other sweets intake too! It’s not Easter time any more, so I am back to my normal not sugary eating regime. I guess I will think twice next time before over-indulging in something…Hopefully my advice can help someone else with sensitive skin, prone to severe rashes and irritations.

Routine Summary

Morning: cleansing with Dr. Bronner’s Unscented Liquid Soap, CV Skinlabs Rescue & Relief Spray as a toner, CV Skinlabs Calming Moisture as a moisturiser only if my skin felt quite tight.

Evening: 1st cleanse with grapeseed oil, wipe it off with facial tissues, second cleanse – Dr. Bronner’s soap, CV Skinlabs Rescue & Relief Spray as a toner, Calming Moisture as a moisturiser and CV Skinlabs Restorative Balm on my lips.
