Revamped Evolve Organic Beauty

Evolve Beauty

Brand-new and very exciting addition has recently happened in the British green beauty! We’ve got Evolve Organic Beauty, fresh from the rebranding and looking very promising. The brand has been around for quite a while with a selection of natural body and hair care. Now, there are new products, new look and new amazing ingredients. Evolve Beauty has repositioned itself with more focus on facial care and body care, enriched with high potency ingredients with a price range from £12 to £28 for full size products. The new packaging is very sleek and has a “hand-crafted” kind of look with dark glass containers and white labels. Evolve Organic Beauty is now available at CosNatural as well (my readers get 10% off with promo-code balance10)!

I first came across Evolve new products at this year Natural & Organic Beauty show in London. They caught my eye straight away and I was so happy to lay my hand on three mini products and I actually really love all of them! One more nice thing about this brand, all the products come in mini sizes and you don’t lose any money when buying minis.

Ok, so first on the list is Evolve Miracle Facial Oil (£9.34 for 10ml or £28 for 30ml). It is formulated with Argan, Rosehip and Nigella oils, it’s 100% natural and 99.6% organic.

Evolve Beauty Miracle Oil

Ingredients: Caprilic/capric triglycerides*, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil*, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Fruit Oil*, Nigella Sativa (Black Cumin) Seed Oil*, Vanilla Planifolia (Vanilla) Extract*, Tocopherol, Citronellol, Geraniol. *ingredients from organic farming

This product is suitable for all skin types and it definitely works for my oily, blemish-prone skin. I’ve been using this all for around a month, every other night before bed time. You can actually use it in the morning too if you have normal to dry skin or mixed with a bit of cream/serum for oilier complexion. It also works great if applied before foundation. Ok, so what are the noticable effects of Evolve Miracle Oil? It moisturises, promotes skin plumpness, improves skin tone, adds glow and heals breakouts. Impressive, ha? Well, I was very pleasantly surprised with this oil, it has exceeded all my expectations to be honest. In addition it has very pleasant, light texture, spreads eaily and sinks into skin very fast. So far, it is one of the best facial oils I’ve tried!

Next is Evolve Glow Mask (£9 for 30ml or £18 for 60ml). It’s 100% natural and 82.2% organic.

Evolve Organic Beauty Glow Mask

Ingredients: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Glycerin*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Shell Powder, Kaolin, Cacao (Theobroma Cacao) Powder, Prunus Amygdalus (Sweet Almond) Oil* Sucrose Laurate, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Water*, Vanilla Planifolia (Vanilla) Extract, Tocopherol.

As you can see from the picture above, it has dark brown thick texture and smells just like chocolate (love-love cacao powder in the ingredients)! It has also some small beads, I guess from the ingredients list that is coconut shell powder, so this mask acts like a face scrub too. It’s a very gentle yet effective product. The main bonus for me is that it doesn’t cause my skin to break out (most of the masks and scrubs do). I apply this mask every 3 days for 5-7 minutes and it feels great. It is really good at resurfacing the skin without being harsh, minimises the appearance of pores and improves the skin tone. Afterwards, skin looks really fresh and radiant, so exactly what is promised!

I think I’ve used my Evolve Satin Leg Gloss (£20 for 100ml or £6 for 30ml) only 3 or 4 times as the weather is really letting me down and I mainly wear jeans. This product is 99% natural and 96.6% organic.

Ingredients: Camellia Oleifera (Camellia) Seed Oil*, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil*, Bisabolol, Gardenia tahitensis flower extract, Mica, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide CI 77499, 77891, Tocopherol, Amyl Cinnamal, Eugenol, Linalool. *ingredients from organic farming

Though I haven’t used it a lot (I wish I could use it more often), it’s an ultimate summer must-have. It is an oil, but again very light, easy to apply and not greasy at all. It is not coloured or have shimmery particles but it makes skin very glossy and shiny. It looks stunning with a bit of tan! So far I only applied this oil on my legs, but I think you can apply it all over the body if necessary or to shoulders, arms and chest if you wear quite revealing dress. One more thing to mention that it smells amazing just like tropical flowers! It also comes with a pump, so it’s very convenient to use and doesn’t spill.

Btw my mum has Evolve Daily Renew Facial Cream and she loves it! I’ve also noticed that her skin now looks very plump and smooth. This would be so perfect for coconut lovers, this cream smells just like coconut flesh, so yummy!

I have few more products on my wish list like Evolve Hyaluronic Serum 200, Fresh Face Facial Wash and Tropical Blossom Butter. I hope to try them very soon and will share my thoughts here or on my Instagram.

Best oils for skin & hair

best-oils-for-skin

To be honest I have never used oils as part of my beauty routine until recently. I have combination to oily skin and my hair roots tend to be quite greasy so I thought “more oil – no, thank you! I have enough of my own…” But when I got more into natural cosmetics I decided to give oils a go. And I should admit they do substitute now quite a few of chemically packed products I have used before. So how can you include natural oils in your beauty routine and what are the best oils for skin and hair

1) Moisturisers.
Oils are great moisturises. You can use it on your face, dry skin patches, hair ends and nail cuticles. My favourites for skin are jojoba oil and almond oil, for hair I would say argan and coconut oils and for nails you can actually use any you like (I prefer argan). Btw argan oil is also famous for its anti-aging effect so I guess I will test it at a later stage of my life.

2) Make-up remover.
Yes, that’s right…you can actually use oils as make-up remover. And you can even get rid of quite heavy eye make-up. The main point is to be gentle so that you don’t get oil into your eyes. I personally use grapeseed oil and I really like it, it is a bit thick but it cleans the face perfectly. Also anyone who has really dry skin could apply grapeseed oil as a powerful moisturiser.
P.S. I know that some women use coconut oil as a make-up remover…I might try it at some point as well.

3) Face cleanser.
You can also use oils for hot oil cleansing. Basically what you do is massage some oil on the dry face, place wet hot cloth on top, keep it for 2-3 minutes and voila you get spa-style sparkly clean face. For this purpose I use special Moogoo cleansing oil for combination skin. But you can use pretty much any oil which is suitable for your skin type.

4) Hair growth elixir.
Some oils are great if you suffer from mild hair loss or you just want to strengthen your hair. The two stars in this category are castor oil and jojoba oil. I usually mix two in proportion 1:1, massage the scalp with the mixture, leave it overnight and wash my hair in the morning. The result is great, my hair becomes much shinier and I do find less hair in my brush after such treatments. Also if you can stand strong smells you can add a couple of drops of rosemary oil which is good for hair growth. Or some lemon or peppermint oils if you have greasy scalp as I do.
In addition, I put some jojoba oil on my lashes and brows to make them thicker. I always had quite thick brows, but you know what, I really saw the difference with my lashes…after I used jojoba oil for like 6 months my lashes became longer, thicker and they don’t fall out as often as they did before. I would not advise to use any other oils on your lashes as I find other oils might irritate the eyes.

And as a cherry on top, you can always use different oils to treat your loved ones with a relaxing massage.
So what do you think are the best oils for skin?
